It is every golfer's dream to walk on St Andrews Links, the Home of Golf. A landscape of infinite variety, golf has been played here for over 600 years, evolving on these Links into the game we know today. The seven St Andrews Links courses are open to the public and everyone can follow in the footsteps of the legends of the game, from Old Tom Morris to Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. In particular, the 'Old Course' (which is the oldest golf course in the world) remains a real test of golf for today's champions. It has many remarkable features (not least the 112 bunkers and double greens) which help make it so special to golfers around the world.
Due to its popularity, special conditions apply to bookings - around 50 per cent of all starting times are put into a daily ballot. There is a handicap requirement of 24 for men and 36 for ladies. Please bring a valid certificate or card. The Old Course is closed Sundays.
