The Royal Scottish Academy Building, architect William Henry Playfair’s great landmark at the junction of Princes Street and The Mound in Edinburgh, has undergone full restoration and refurbishment by the National Galleries of Scotland to secure its future as Scotland’s premier and Europe's international exhibition venue. Re-opened in August 2003, the RSA Building offers an international exhibition space housed in 11 galleries. Exhibitions change on a regular basis, details of which can be found on the website. Additionally, a scheme to link the RSA Building with the National Gallery of Scotland, Playfair’s sister building next door, which opened in August 2004 provides a lecture theatre, education rooms, information technology and orientation area, as well as a restaurant, cafe, shop and cloakroom.
Open daily 10am-5pm Thursday-7pm
