See the Georgian architecture of the New Town and the medieval Royal Mile with Edinburgh Castle at one end and the Palace of Holyroodhouse at the other and stop for panoramic views of the city.
Holyrood Palace has played a central role in Scotland’s history since its foundation by David I nearly 900 years ago. Rebuilt several times over the centuries it would become home to Mary, Queen of Scots in the 16th century and the Edinburgh headquarters of Bonnie Prince Charlie in 1745. The Palace is the official residence of the Queen in Scotland.
